Canon R1 Camera Body

The Canon R1 has been designed with several advanced features to enable you to capture outstanding professional-grade video and photos, including a new 24.2MP BSI stacked sensor, a DIGIC X processor and a DIGIC accelerator allowing the R1 to process and analyse a large volume of data for phenomenal performance.

Fast shutter

The Canon EOS R1 has a 1/64000 shutter speed and a customisable continuous shooting speed, allowing you to take images with an incredibly sharp focus. Pre-continuous shooting lets the R1 buffer 20 frames continuously while the shutter release is half-pressed. These frames are written to the memory card when the shutter is fully pressed.

Advanced AF

The Canon R1’s deep learning AI and Cross-type AF algorithm with dual pixel AF technology, advanced action recognition and face priority tracking help keep your subject in focus even in low light and low-contrast conditions.

Advanced action recognition can read the actions and poses that are unique to a specific sport, for example, during a football game the camera will analyse the movements of the players and the ball, making sure the AF and tracking are always on the right player.

Face-priority tracking allows you to save up to 10 faces in priority order 1-10 to improve autofocus tracking, this improved face recognition lets you capture easily focused shots even in a busy environment. The priority order can be changed and updated.

Eye Control AF

Experience faster detection frame rate with eye control AF, this system tracks your pupil while using the EVF to select the focus area based on where your eye is looking. Providing you with a more reliable and accurate AF detection system which is approximately 2x faster, giving you a more natural experience

High-Quality Video

The Canon EOS R1 Has been designed with the ability to shoot for longer durations in more varied video formats including 6K 60fps in RAW, 4K120p, 4K60p oversampled and 2k or full HD at 240fps. Record professional quality video in Canon Log 2 or HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) with up to 16+ stops of dynamic range and 4-Ch24-bit audio.

Hybrid Creativity

Thanks to the R1’s Dual shooting system, capture video and still images simultaneously. When you’re recording Full HD video and want to capture still shots, R1 can capture images at 17.6MP (16:9) 10fps when dual shooting.

In-Camera Upscaling

The Canon EOS R1 supports in-camera upscaling allowing you to upscale the image to 4x the initial resolution in the camera, ideal for producing high-quality large-scale images.

Reduced Noise & Camera Shake

Integrated with deep learning noise reduction, the R1 features up to 2 stops of noise reduction, while also featuring 8.5 stops of IBIS. The Canon EOS R1 can capture smooth, steady images and video even at lower shutter speeds without compromising the image quality.

Improved EVF

Developed with a 9.44MP EVF the R1 can display a staggering level of detail. The diopter on the EVF can be set and locked to adjust the magnification for optimal viewing and reduced eye strain.

Wired & Wireless shooting

The Canon R1 is WiFi 6E1 with MIMO antennas enabled and features a 2.5G Base-T ethernet port enabling faster transmission speeds. Providing you with lightning-fast connectivity for super-stable performance.

Blackout Free Viewfinder

The R1 can process a large amount of data instantaneously thanks to the combined back-illuminated stacked dual-pixel CMOS AD sensor and DIGIC X processor. These fast readout speeds help eliminate viewfinder blackout.
