DJI Avata 360 Drone (RC 2)
The DJI Avata 360 Drone (RC 2) is designed for creators who want the freedom of 360° capture alongside the control of a traditional screen-based remote. It combines compact proportions, integrated propeller protection and advanced sensing with high-resolution video and stills capture, making it well suited to action-led aerial work, travel filming and subject tracking.
8K 360° capture for flexible editing
At the centre of the DJI Avata 360 Drone is a dual-sensor camera system with two 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensors, each offering 64MP effective pixels. In 360° mode, the drone records up to 8K video at up to 60fps and captures still images at up to 15520 × 7760. This gives you room to reframe clips for different aspect ratios, crop for social delivery or produce a cleaner, more controlled final edit from a single flight.
Single Lens mode for more conventional aerial footage
In addition to full 360° capture, the DJI Avata 360 Drone (RC 2) supports Single Lens mode for more traditional drone video. Depending on the shooting configuration, this includes 4K and 2.7K recording options, giving you a more direct route to standard aerial footage when you do not need full spherical capture. This makes the drone useful for both stylised FPV-inspired sequences and more straightforward landscape or location work.
RC 2 control for precise camera-led flying
This version includes the DJI RC 2, making it a practical choice for users who prefer a conventional controller and on-screen view rather than a goggles-led flying experience. For aerial filming, location scouting and composed tracking shots, the RC 2 setup offers a familiar control method that suits pilots moving up from a standard camera drone as well as users who want to focus on framing and route control.
Built for dynamic tracking and safer close-proximity work
The DJI Avata 360 Drone uses an omnidirectional vision system, forward-facing LiDAR and a bottom infrared sensor to support obstacle awareness in a wider range of shooting scenarios. Combined with the integrated propeller guard, this helps make the platform more confidence-inspiring when flying through tighter spaces or closer to subjects. For creators capturing movement, action or follow-style shots, this added protection is especially useful.
Compact body with solid flight performance
With an approximate take-off weight of 455g and a body size of 246 × 199 × 55.5mm, the DJI Avata 360 Drone remains compact enough for mobile shooting setups while still delivering the speed and control needed for energetic footage. It supports speeds up to 18 m/s in Sport mode, wind resistance up to 10.7 m/s and a maximum flight time of approximately 23 minutes, helping you stay productive on location without stepping up to a larger airframe.
Stable transmission and fast file handling
DJI’s O4+ transmission system provides live view at up to 1080p, with strong anti-interference performance and low-latency operation. For workflow convenience, the drone includes 42GB of internal storage and supports high-speed Wi-Fi 6 transfers, so you can move files quickly without always relying on a card reader. If you regularly shoot short-form content, previews or quick-turnaround edits, this can make the capture-to-edit process more efficient.
Stabilisation options for smooth or immersive footage
The DJI Avata 360 Drone combines a single-axis mechanical gimbal for tilt control with a 360° virtual gimbal. In Single Lens mode, supported stabilisation options depend on the controller setup, while 360° capture gives you broad flexibility in post-production for horizon control, tilt adjustments and reframing. This is one of the key reasons the drone appeals to creators who want both cinematic smoothness and more expressive camera movement from the same aircraft.
