Nikon SB-500 Speedlight Flash
Portable, easy-to-use Speedlight, compatible with Nikon D-SLRs as well as specific COOLPIX cameras and the Nikon Creative Lighting System. The Nikon SB-500 Speedlight Flash boasts an onboard high-intensity LED light that’s ideal for movie recording.
With a compact, lightweight build, this flash unit makes it simple to manage the quality and direction of light. In a first for Nikon, this Speedlight features a high-intensity LED light on the front of the unit that is ideal for shooting movies, or capturing close-up still images. Compatible with the Nikon Creative Lighting System, the SB-500 also enables wireless control of multiple flash units.
Compact i-TTL Speedlight: compatible with FX- and DX-format D-SLRs, COOLPIX cameras equipped with a hot shoe, and the Nikon Creative Lighting System.
Built-in LED light: high-intensity (100 lx) LED light on the front of the flash unit that’s ideal for shooting movies. The LED light covers the angle of view of a 24 mm lens (FX format), offers superior colour reproduction.
Simple operation: superior ergonomics are matched with easy-to-understand controls on the rear of the unit. Additional functions and flash mode can be set via a camera menu, which activates automatically when the SB-500 is attached to the camera.
Guide number: 24/78.7 (m/ft at ISO 100) covering a 24 mm angle-of-view (FX format).
Portable: compact, lightweight design, and powered by two AA-size batteries.
Versatile/direct the light: the flash head tilts up to 90° and rotates horizontally through 180°. Angle the light just the way you want in order to shoot creatively or attain more balanced images in tricky lighting situations.
Compatible with Nikon Creative Lighting System: the SB-500 can work as a master flash for multiple off-camera flash set-ups when used with cameras featuring a built-in flash commander mode.
