The M.Zuiko 12-40mm F2.8 Mk II Pro Lens delivers exceptional image quality from a compact and lightweight body that weighs a mere 382g while measuring just 84mm in length and is suited to most styles of photography. Its 12-40mm focal length (35mm equivalent of 24-80mm) makes it ideal for portraits, architecture, nature, travel, landscape, sports, wildlife and low-light shooting.

Perfect for Macro photography

While being suitable for a multitude of photography styles this lens is equally suited for macro. With a minimum focusing distance of just 20cm, across the entire zoom range and an 0.3x magnification (0.6x 35mm equivalent), you can get some spectacular close-up shots with feathery bokeh thanks to the 7-blade circular aperture diaphragm.

The M.Zuiko 12-40mm F2.8 Mk II Pro also supports Focus Stacking so that you can capture multiple images at various focal lengths and then automatically composite the shot. It is possible to take macro images that are completely in focus from front to back when paired with a compatible camera.

This lens is constructed of 14 elements in 9 groups, including 1 EDA lens, 2 aspherical lenses, 1 DSA lens, 2 ED lenses, 1 HD lens, 2 HR lenses to produce outstanding resolution across the entire length of its zoom range. This layout helps to suppress chromatic aberration and ensures high-resolution imaging across the entirety of the zoom range and frame even at the maximum aperture.

Ghosting and flaring have been eliminated thanks to the ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating allowing for clear depictive performance in difficult shooting situations like backlit scenes.

The M.Zuiko 12-40mm F2.8 Mk II features an MSC (Movie and Still Compatible) mechanism to enable fast and silent autofocus. This makes for ease of use whether you are shooting still images or capturing video.

The lens is capable of approximately 50 fps (AF/AE tracking) sequential shooting on the OM SYSTEM OM-1 thanks to advanced camera control technology.

Dust, Splash and Freezeproof

The M.Zuiko 12-40mm F2.8 Mk II Lens features IP53 dustproof and splashproof protection and is freezeproof down to -10°C. When paired with an equally dust, splash and freeze-proof camera, like the OM-1 you can capture outstanding images in even the harshest of weather conditions.

Another feature of the lens is its Fluorine coating to help reduce friction in addition to its water, oil, and dust-repellent performance.
