Panasonic HC-X20E Camcorder
Built for high-end productions where portability is required, including documentaries, sports events, interviews, concerts, and more. Panasonic HC-X20E Camcorder is an all-in-one camcorder that helps you reliably track a subject with ease.
High image and audio quality
The HC-X20E features an effective 15MP 1.0-type MOS sensor and HEVC codec, making it perfect for 4K as well as being both efficient and compatible for streaming. Infrared shooting for darker environments is possible via the use of an IR light, sold separately.
48kHz/24-bit high-resolution PCM audio recording is available from two XLR audio inputs, with a volume dial giving you 2 channel control.
Precise shooting
4K high precision AF ensures the focus remains locked on the subject for stability when other objects enter the frame. The speed of the autofocus also means that the system can smoothly bring your subject into focus, even when they enter the frame quickly, as well as improved tracking performance to keep them in focus as they continue moving throughout the shot.
Versatile streaming
RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol) is supported for streaming with Adobe Flash. The live streaming function will allow you to connect directly to Facebook or YouTube live. When using modes below FHD, recording onto SD cards in the camera is possible while streaming.
20x optical zoom and wide-angle shooting
The camcorder allows you to cover a range from wide-angle 24.5mm to ultra-telephoto 490mm at UHD/FHD (35mm equivalent), all with minimal distortion.
Hybrid OIS
Three OIS modes include Normal, for detecting and correcting handshake in the 5-axis direction, Stable, for fixed-frame shooting, and Pan/Tilt for effective panning and tilting. These features help reduce blurring and provide powerful correction, which is great for use in low- or high-angle shooting.
Triple manual rings and ND filters
Nimble and intuitive filming is possible through the Zoom, Focus, and Iris control rings on the lens barrel. This focus ring control will allow you to coordinate the focus ring operation with the amount of focus movement. The lens also has built-in ND filters to suppress the incident light picked up, so you can adapt to a variety of shooting environments. The filter options include; 1/4, 1/16, 1/64, and Clear.
Slow-motion recording
With a VFR (Variable Frame Rate) of 2-60fps, the HC-X20E gives you the freedom to record with a slow-motion effect; by using a high-speed frame rate, or vice versa for quick-motion.
Bright display
The 3.5-inch high-brightness LCD monitor can be constantly displayed even when viewing through the EVF, so you don’t miss anything. A selfie-shooting mode makes it so the operational icons are displayed on the LCD monitor when rotated 180 degrees for total control.
Double SD card slot
Data can be relay recorded continuously by switching the recording SD card slot and replacing the full card with a new one. Another application of the dual SD slot is simultaneous recording, for storing data on two cards. Furthermore, background recording is a style that allows one SD card to hold Start/Stop-controlled recording data, while the other SD card records all data continuously.
Enhanced usability
Many added features give the HC-X20E even greater usability, such as; a cable holding clamp on the hand belt, a long-life battery, a new easy open/close mic holder, a save/restore camera setting for storing setup information, and a fast zoom function that adjusts the sensitivity of the zoom lever and ring.
Professional assist functions
The camcorder comes with extra features to aid professionals. Waveform Monitor (WFM) can help you determine the correct exposure, while Vector scope will show you the colour phase and saturation, so you can accurately adjust the white balance. Setting upper and lower brightness limits and displaying Zebra patterns is also possible so that you can easily check for blown-out highlights. Another feature is the flash band correction software that allows for different flash-lit frames to be combined to generate a frame with full-screen flash. Further features include luminance level adjustment to match light levels and a level gauge so you can check the tilt on the screen display.
