Panasonic Lumix S 35mm F1.8

Panasonic has developed a new lens for its LUMIX S range. This Panasonic Lumix S 35mm F1.8 prime lens is the latest in their S range, adding to their 24mm, 50mm and 80mm. All four of these professional quality lenses are compatible with L-mount systems.

Designed to be used interchangeably

These lenses have been designed to be used interchangeably with minimal interference to your overall performance and recording quality. With a similar centre of gravity, there is very little balance adjustment when your camera is on a gimbal system. These lenses are ideal for use with cameras such as the Lumix S5 II or the Lumix S5 II X, this f1.8 series allow for beautiful wide aperture photography

Ideal for close up photography

The 35mm is a versatile lens, perfect for landscape photography or quick snapshots. Thanks to a minimum focusing distance of 0.24m this lens is ideal for close up photography.

High-quality optical design

The lens is comprised of 11 lens elements in 9 groups. The optical design of this lens includes 3 aspherical lenses and 3 external=low dispersion (ED) lenses. The high-quality optics work together along with other elements in the lens to create professional-quality video footage and still images. We tested out the Lumix S 35mm and really get a first-hand impression of the handleability and image quality. Click here to read our full review of the LUMIX S 35mm>

Reduced chromatic aberration and beautiful bokeh

The ED lenses allow the overall lens to effectively suppress chromatic aberration. While the aspherical lenses enable the lens to produce high descriptive performance and beautiful bokeh.

9 blade construction

The 9 blades circular aperture diaphragm on this lens can produce beautiful smooth bokeh making your subject the absolute focal point of your frame.

Smooth and Silent operation

The 35mm boasts smooth and silent operation, working with the camera AF system to produce super-fast auto-focusing. This lens can work with a cameras sensor drive at a max of 240fps. This lens can keep up with the auto-focus demands of a camera capable of filming at 240fps. Capture clear in focus video footage at almost any speed.

Adjustable focus sensitivity

The focus sensitivity can be adjusted to allow for intended focus operation. Perfect for when you are trying to capture high-quality video footage. With the additional internal mechanism that helps to suppress focus breathing, this lens excels in video recording performance.

Micro-step aperture

The Lumix 35mm features micro-step aperture control for smooth exposure change. Adjust the exposure incrementally to achieve the most ideal exposure for your filming needs.

Lightweight, compact and portable

Compact size, weighing only 295g this lens can be an easy lightweight addition to anyone’s camera bag. Taking up minimum space. Provides room for you to bring additional prime lenses or even an external flash like the Panasonic DMW – FL360LE external flash.

Dust and splash resistant

The lens has been constructed to have dust and splash resistant qualities. It is also capable of withstanding conditions of -10°c. Allowing you to use this lens and other lenses in the S series such as Lumix S 24mm in a wide variety of outdoor conditions, without fear of losing recording quality.

67mm filter thread size

As with the Lumix S 85mm and the Lumix S 50mm the 35mm shares the same 67mm filter thread size. This allows videographers and photographers to use one size filters on their prime lenses. Saving space in your bag for additional memory cards like the SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC Card 64GB, allowing you to film professional-quality footage for longer.
