Sigma 16-28mm f2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens – Sony E
The Sigma 16-28mm f2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens – Sony E is a brilliant combination of portability and high-definition optical performance. It is a game-changer in the mirrorless ultra-wide-angle zoom category. Ideal for a number of applications, from landscapes and wedding photography to videography and vlogging, the latest Sigma Contemporary Lens will make an excellent addition to your kit bag.
Uncompromising image quality
As with all Sigma Contemporary lenses, the 16-28mm f2.8 provides uncompromising image quality achieved through its excellent engineering. A potential issue with alternative wide-angle lenses, the Sigma 16-28mm Contemporary has exceptional edge-to-edge sharpness and field curvature correction.
Two large-diameter aspherical lens elements and five perfectly arranged FLD glass elements effectively suppress any lateral and vertical chromatic aberrations whilst keeping the lens light and balanced. The Contemporary lens also works with the advanced digital correction capabilities of modern cameras to enable impressive image quality in such a small body.
Zero flare
Sigma has taken extensive care to counter any ghosting or lens flare. A Super-Multi-Layer Coating ensures that the 16-28mm DG DN Contemporary lens delivers punchy, high contrast results even in the most difficult backlit conditions.
Perfectly balanced
The Sigma 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens is robust, lightweight and compact. Made for L-Mount and Sony E-Mount shooters who require professional full-frame results the 450g* lens is exceptionally adaptable. Measuring just 100.6mm in length* the lens’ internal zoom mechanism keeps the lens feeling balanced across the entire zoom range.

Exceptional. Every day
If you are the type to photograph dramatic landscapes one day, and a wedding the next, the 16-28mm f2.8 DG DN | C is the lens for you. Highly adaptable, its convenient form-factor allows more freedom and improved usability making it a practical, as well as creative, choice for any scene. The maximum aperture of f2.8 reveals a stunning depth of field that will bring out the details of your subject.
Well suited for videography
The lens’ internal zoom ensures that it retains a consistent balance throughout the entire focal length. This feature lends itself perfectly to videography mounted to a gimbal, vlogging tripod or using the camera handheld.
The wide-angle of the lens can capture more of the scene, whilst the wide aperture makes the lens fast and well suited to low-light environments. A silent and fast stepping motor inside the lens controls the AF actuator which ensures that even with an on-camera microphone, the lens remains unheard.
Intuitive design
Constructed out of specially selected lightweight materials such as Thermally Stable Composite (TSC), the lens is able to excel even in challenging environments with harsh temperature differences, as the metal and plastic components contract and expand to similar degrees.
