The Sigma I Series is designed specifically for the mirrorless camera system. The 65mm F2 DG DN lens fits perfectly with a Sony full-frame mirrorless camera or a full-frame mirrorless camera under the L-Mount Alliance.

Optical Performance

Advanced processing technology combined with the latest optical design gives the 65mm F2 DG DN its superb optical performance as well as its compact size. Medium telephoto lenses tend to suffer from axial chromatic aberration, but not with Sigma’s 65mm F2 DG DN lens. It is corrected thoroughly with the use of SLD glass, allowing it to resolve extreme detail.

Anti-ghosting and anti-flare technology ensure high-end performance in backlit conditions.

Exceptional Build Quality

An all-metal construction, in keeping with the rest of the I Series, ensures the lens is durable. Precision cut aluminium parts add to the durability of the lens whilst adding a sleek and classic feel. The design and build of this lens has taken inspiration from Sigma’s cine lens line-up for professional filmmakers, so you know you’ll be working with a high-end product.

Functional Features

Despite being exceptionally compact and lightweight for an all-metal, full-frame, wide-aperture lens, the 65mm from Sigma has impressive functionality. A smooth aperture ring allows the photographer to alter the aperture settings directly from the lens rather than through the camera, should they wish. Sigma has incorporated a sound-deadening grease that aids the smooth operation of the aperture ring.

The lens comes with a regular plastic lens cap along with a metal cap that will attach to the front of the lens magnetically.

Who is the 65mm Lens for?

Thanks to the control of spherical aberration and a 9-blade rounded design, the 65mm F2 lens can create beautifully rounded and soft bokeh, making this lens perfect for portraits. The medium telephoto focal length produces great compression so is ideal for really isolating your subject. That’s not to say that the lens can’t be used for a creative edge on street photography or even capture fast-moving birds.
