It features a built-in rear filter holder that can hold the gel-type ND filters used in astrophotography. At the front of the barrel, there is also a Lens Heater Retainer to hold a heat strip, preventing condensation build-up.

A unique Manual Focus Lock (MFL) switch is useful for disabling the focus ring and preventing it from being knocked when set to infinity. Furthermore, the specific glass composition of the lens ensures that bright points of light remain pin-sharp at all apertures and across the entire frame.
