The F1.8 ZEISS Vario-Sonnar® T* has a wide aperture, which allows more light to enter the lens. The unique T* multilayer lens coating gives you sharp, true-colour image reproduction – without flare or ‘ghosting’. The wide aperture also enables you to control foreground and background blur levels, so you can be more creative with your photos.

9-blade circular aperture

The unique 9-blade circular design lets the aperture remain almost perfectly circular throughout the full range of F-stops. This makes it possible to achieve smoother, more natural defocusing in your images – including artistic blurring or ‘bokeh’ – and greater control over the depth of field.
