Outstanding image quality
The optical construction of the lens is made up of 12 elements in 10 groups and uses two precisely located GM (Glass Moulded Aspherical) lens elements to assure high resolution from edge to edge. It also incorporates one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) and two LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements to produce sharp images with optical aberrations highly corrected.
BBAR-G2 Coating
The lens has been given a BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating. This is to ensure that ghosting and flare is kept to a minimum level while maintaining all the minute details, even when the subject is backlit.
This combination of features works in harmony to provide sharp images with natural colours and rich saturation.
Minimum focusing distance of 15cm
The lens boasts a minimum focusing distance of 15cm, at the 11mm zoom length and 24cm when fully extended to 20mm making it an excellent choice for macro shooting. Capturing expressive bokeh and wide-angle macro photography is made even easier thanks to the lens magnification ratio of 1:4, at 11mm.
User-friendly 67mm filter size
The Tamron 11-20mm f2.8 uses a 67mm filter, which is the same as most of the Tamron lens models for Fujifilm X-mount cameras, allowing the user to use the same filters and lens caps on all lenses.
Quiet and Fast RXD Focusing
The lens delivers high-speed and accurate AF thanks to its RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) which uses an actuator to precisely control the rotational angle of the motor, allowing it to directly drive the focusing lens without passing through a reduction gear. This makes it fantastic for shooting video, as well as stills, allowing the lens to be used in low-noise situations.
Ideal for all weather conditions
You can use the Tamron 11-20mm f2.8 even in the toughest of weather conditions thanks to its moisture-resistant construction. The front surface of the lens element has been coated with a protective fluorine compound, making it water- and oil-repellent. This also makes the surface of the lens much easier to wipe clean and makes it more resistant to dirt, dust, moisture and fingerprints.
