Description

Nikon Z 70-200mm F2.8 VR S II

A highly popular lens for photographers of all genres, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S II is a true workhorse packed with Nikon’s best AF system to date, stronger image stabilisation, and redesigned S-Line optics. The original lens was released when mirrorless cameras were relatively new. Since then, technology has leapt ahead, and this second-generation lens is designed to keep pace with the fastest Nikon cameras.

What makes a 70-200mm f2.8 special?

A 70-200mm f2.8 is part of the “holy trinity” of lenses that most photographers say everyone should own. This focal range is perfect for candid portraits that capture natural moments over staged poses by allowing you to step out of the crowd while your photos remain intimate. The f2.8 aperture then creates flattering, soft bokeh that makes your subject stand out.

Next-Gen S-Line Optics

With this lens, your images will be of a superior quality. Nikon’s S-Line optics include a dual-sided aspherical lens element, Super ED and SR glass and Meso Amorphous and ARNEO coatings. This construction reduces glare and chromatic aberration for ultimate clarity, even in difficult lighting conditions.

Natural, Flattering Bokeh

The improved 11-blade aperture and fast f2.8 aperture produce soft bokeh with a very natural, rounded look. Subjects are separated from their background for a better-defined, more smoothly graded and more natural sense of depth.

3.5x Faster & 50% Quieter Autofocus

The Nikon 70-200 f2.8 II has a hugely boosted autofocus system. The Silky Swift voice coil motor design is 3.5x faster than its predecessor and 50% quieter during the action. But how accurate is it? Thanks to the new optical formula, with fewer elements used to greater effect, the precision of the focus and its tracking is much improved.

Class Leading Weight

The NIKKOR 70-200mm f2.8 offers a significant upgrade in its build. Weighing 998g (362g lighter than its predecessor), this lens is class-leading* for a lightweight telephoto of its range. The balanced internal zoom ensures agility and stability when using the entire focal range, a particular bonus for videographers using gimbals.

Improved Stability

Boasting an improved 6 stops of in-lens Vibration Reduction, combined with the fast 2.8 aperture and Synchro VR, this second-gen lens allows you to take advantage of even the most challenging situations. Act fast and get pin-sharp images every time.
