The Nikon Z f is a full-frame mirrorless camera that features a 24.5MP CMOS sensor along with an EXPEED 7 processing engine all wrapped up in a classic design. Other features include 4K video recording at up to 60p and an 8-stop 5-axis VR system.

Style and Substance

Though the Z f is styled on the classic FM2 SLR film camera, it is packed full of the latest Z technology for today’s photographers. The body has been constructed from Magnesium Alloy, weighs 710g* and measures 144 x 103 x 49mm. The camera comes equipped with a vari-angle, 3.2-inch LCD screen, a 3690k-dot Quad-VGA OLED electronic viewfinder and dual memory card slots for SD and MicroSD. There are 3 brass dials on the top of the camera that allow you to control shutter speed, exposure compensation and ISO sensitivity as well as a small LCD screen that displays your current aperture setting.

So What’s New?

The Z f features two new picture controls. These are a Flat Monochrome setting as well as Deep Tone Monochrome. A dedicated black-and-white position has been added to the photo and video selector to make it easy for you to switch between modes. The camera also features Creative Picture Controls and a new High-Res, Pixel-Shift Shooting mode.

Superior Performance

At the core of the Z f is the EXPEED 7 imaging-processing engine. This allows for a high ISO range of 100-64000 as well as the same nine types of subject detection featured in the Z 8. The camera also comes with an impressive 8 stops of vibration reduction and improved electronic VR to further aid in low-light shooting situations.

Photo Specs

The Z f is packed full of fantastic features for photographers. The camera offers 273 AF focus points with 3D tracking available and thanks to the EXPEED 7 image-processing engine, it is possible to capture high-speed continuous shooting at up to 30 fps.

Enhanced Video Performance

The Z f offers a host of fantastic video capture options including 4K at up to 60p* in 10-bit H.265 as well as slow-motion FHD at up to 120p. It is possible to record up to 125 minutes of 4K UHD and you also have the ability to adjust ISO sensitivity in steps of 1.6 EV and the display of a red frame during filming.
